Everyday luxe. Everyday amazing.

“I solve problems through interior design and help my clients make their space amazing.”

Amie Mays, founder and principal of Amaysing Co., is a Black American interior designer who specializes in crafting spaces that rejuvenate and inspire. "A well-designed space can spark creativity and innovation, as well as foster collaboration," she says. "For me a successful design project tells a story about its inhabitants and how they see themselves."

Currently based in Los Angeles, Mays is a New Yorker at heart with her use of texture, culture, and minimalism to evoke “everyday luxe... everyday amazing.”

"Growing up in NYC, I loved that it was a place where you could retreat into anonymity, but at the same time were forced to interact with many different cultures. That notion informs every space I design."

Amaysing Co’s interior designs were featured recently in Architectural Digest for our work developing a safe space sanctuary for Lena Waithe and Rishi Rajani’s Hillman Grad production company.

True luxury is bespoke and hand-crafted.

"Making something from raw materials is what really gets me going. In every space I design, I include bespoke pieces and try to make something original. I want my clients to enjoy a little bit of luxury everyday, and I strive to leave them with a piece of everyday amazing.

"I think deeply about aesthetics," says Mays. "From the time I was a child, my aesthetic choices were my way of controlling my narrative, and letting people know that they couldn’t put me in a box. With clients, it’s about helping them to create spaces where they feel truly liberated."

Mays, an accomplished storyteller, is also a published poet, writer and award-winning filmmaker with a portfolio that includes co-founder of MTV’s Caribbean channel, co-producer of the seminal music documentary AfroPunk, FUSE, Lifetime, Dallas Austin, YouTube beauty sensation Michelle Phan, NY Post Page 6 and an upcoming documentary about social justice.
